FIRE crews used an oxygen mask to save a dog's life following a kitchen fire which claimed the life of a second dog.
The blaze gutted the kitchen at a house in Coppice Wood Crescent, Yeadon, which broke out at around 6.15pm on Monday.
Crews from Rawdon and Idle dealt with the fire, which is thought to have been started by a faulty extractor fan in the kitchen.
A fire service spokesman said crews rescued two dogs but sadly one could not be saved. Crews used oxygen and CPR to save one of the pets.
He said the kitchen was completely destroyed.
Two hose reels and four sets of breathing apparatus were used to tackle the fire. The householders were not thought to be at home.
