AN ELDERLY cyclist is in hospital with serious head injuries after falling from his bike in Gomersal last night.
The 82 year-old was cycling alone from Quarry Road to Upper Lane when police said he fell from his bike onto Lower Lane at around 8.30pm.
One witness said the road was closed as the man received treatment by emergency services.
Police Constable Richard Wilson, from the Western Area Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Team, said: "The cyclist was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with head injuries.

"He remains in a serious but stable condition this morning.
"I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident."
