POLICE today appealed for witnesses following a robbery at a Bradford hair salon.
The incident took place at about 2.40pm yesterday when a 29-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were in the salon in Jer Lane, Horton Bank Top.
A man with his face covered entered with a broken broom handle and made demands for money.
He then approached the reception desk and made attempts to snatch a handbag from the floor.
The 29-year-old woman tried to stop the suspect but was repeatedly assaulted before shouting that she was pregnant.
The suspect then fled the scene with the handbag and its contents.
He is described as Asian, in his 20s of slim build, and wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded top, and a blue scarf, with a hint of red in it, over his face.
Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, said: "This incident took place in a residential area during the early part of the afternoon as people will have been going about their business, or preparing for the afternoon school run. I am certain someone will have seen something.
"I would urge anyone who saw the suspect fleeing the scene, or who has any information, to contact the police so we can bring this offender to justice."
Anyone with information should contact Bradford District CID via 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
