CHILDREN and staff at a Bradford nursery are celebrating after inspectors gave it the highest possible rating in its latest inspection.
The Meridian Nursery based at the Meridian Centre in Manningham was judged outstanding in all areas, and yesterday staff organised a celebration day.
When the nursery in St Paul's Road was last inspected in 2010 it was judged good.
It was visited by Ofsted at the beginning of May, and the report released during the spring holidays. Yesterday's celebration event featured family games and a bouncy castle.
The report says: "The quality of teaching is outstanding as staff have an excellent knowledge of how children learn.
"Inspirational and enthusiastic staff provide extremely high-quality learning experiences, which ensure children are fully engaged, eager to explore and thrive on new challenges and learning opportunities.
"Children's behaviour is excellent. Partnerships with parents, school and outside agencies are at the heart of the nursery's aims."
A nursery spokesman said: "This outstanding grade is a significant recognition of how the nursery has evolved from very modest beginnings.
"The dedication, attitude and desire of the staff to be exceptional in their work with children is phenomenal. The staff and management team are highly focused on continuing to embed and enhance exemplary practice in all areas of childcare provision. We are particularly grateful to the parents, children and staff and board members for their continued support and commitment."
