MORE than 100 people enjoyed the great outdoors for a community Big Lunch in Saltaire.
The event, organised by Halifax, saw the group bring their own picnic lunch to Roberts Park for a second successive year.
Almost £250 was also raised from the raffle held at the event, with proceeds going to Children in Need.
The Big Lunch, originally set up by the Cornwall-based Eden Project, aims to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June.
Last year's Big Lunch saw 4.83 million people take to their streets, gardens and community spaces across the UK.
Sam Walsh, Halifax branch manager in Shipley, who organised the Saltaire event alongside Laura Philiskirk, customer manager at Halifax's Keighley branch, said: "It was a fantastic event.
"Halifax have got involved in the Big Lunch over the last few years to try to bring people in the community together. We know how difficult it is sometimes with people leading such busy lives.
"We are looking to do it again next year and make it bigger and better.
"We had people coming through all of the time."
