STUDENTS and staff who have made an outstanding contribution to life at the University of Bradford have received awards.
Among the 24 winners were Professor Diana Anderson for her research into cancer diagnosis, Cycling4All for support given to disabled students, and student Rabia Qureshi for her enterprise initiative.
University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Brian Cantor, said: "I am delighted to recognise the students and the staff who have gone the extra mile in their activities for the benefit of the university. This is testament to the Team Bradford ethos we have fostered here at the university and it is great to see so many examples of achievement across the university."
The awards were announced at a lunch hosted by the vice-chancellor yesterday.
The winners were: Archaeology Student Ambassadors Team (promoting the university); Uduak Archibong (equality and diversity); Sue Baker (support for international students); Bradford Science Bridges China (partnership with China); Bradford Visualisation Team (Bradford Visualisation Project); Computing Student Society PiSoc (support and advice for students); Cycling4All; Elections and Democracy Events Team (student and staff engagement); End of Year Celebration Team (support for staff and students); Energy Team (sustainability and carbon management); Future Ubiquitous Networks Research Group (aeronautical communications); Grounds Team (biodiversity and engagement); Midwifery Society (support to students); Michelle Miller (contribution to the re:centre and sustainability); Jonathan Muir (development and stewardship of the Distance Learning MBA); Tasnim Munshi (student experience); Outside Broadcast Team (community support); Rabia Qureshi; REF Team; Return to Practice Team (support for students); Room 101 (international students support); STEM Team Bradford (student experience and success); Liam Sutton (bid writing).
