A SUPERMARKET worker is on trial accused of raping a drunken young woman after a party.
Adam Brown, 23, of Buttershaw Road, Buttershaw, Bradford, denies the offence, said by the prosecution to have happened in March last year.
Brown, who works at Morrisons in Mayo Avenue, Bradford, had also been employed at the supermarket chain's branch in Westgate in the city centre, the jury at Bradford Crown Court was told today.
Prosecutor Nick Askins said the woman, aged 20, had shared three bottles of wine with a female friend before attending the party.
Brown, who is alleged to have been sexually attracted to her, is accused of taking advantage while she was ill.
She was said to be barely able to speak and being sick into a bowl.
Mr Askins said there was a struggle between them and he pulled down her knickers.
She saw that he was naked and raping her.
"She was shocked, pushed him and tried to get away from him, saying: "No, no. Oh my god," Mr Askins said.
The jury was told that Brown then let her go to sleep and texted her the next day to say he had been in the wrong and had taken advantage.
Brown told the police she had consented to the sexual activity and things were fine between them in the morning.
The trial continues.
