FIRE crews have been offering people in the Manningham area free smoke alarms after a house fire on Friday evening.
A crew from Fairweather Green fire station was called to the area after reports of smoke coming from a property in Nearcliffe Road at 7.30pm.
The property was being refurbished at the time and the fire started in the basement. It left the house smoke damaged with fire damage in the basement.
No-one was thought to be in the house at the time.
Fire crews returned the next day to offer fire safety advice to residents and install smoke alarms.
