The derelict Hutton Middle School
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a derelict school in Eccleshill.
The former Hutton Middle School, which also used to be a gym, was targeted in a suspected arson attack at about 9.15pm yesterday.
A fire service spokesman from Idle station said crews tackled two seats of fire upstairs in the building (pictured).
He added: "It is the second time this week we have been called to the building."
Campaigners are currently try to save the building from demolition as part of a developer's plans to build homes on the site, which is between Cavendish Road and Victoria Road.
