Fire damages house up for sale days before viewing
A HOUSE for sale in Idle was damaged by fire days before it was due to be viewed by a prospective buyer.
Firefighters from Idle and Rawdon stations were called to the empty house on Sandfield Road at 8.15pm yesterday and discovered a small fire in a rear bedroom. The room was damaged and the upstairs of the property was heavily smoke-logged.
A fire service spokesman said: "Someone was coming to view it at the end of the week."
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
