DETECTIVES have closed their investigation into an alleged rape of a man in Heckmondwike, after the complaint was withdrawn.
A 23-year-old man reported that he had been raped in an alleyway off Albion Street in the town, at about 3am on Sunday, May 24.
Police sealed off the area for forensic examinations and specially trained officers were brought in to support the alleged victim.
Today, a West Yorkshire Police spokesman confirmed: "As a result of further inquiries, the complaint has been withdrawn and police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the matter."
