FUNDRAISERS across the district will soon be icing cakes, baking buns and putting the kettle on in preparation for a big charity tea party.
Marie Curie's Blooming Great Tea Party is being held on Wednesday, June 24, and one of the places joining in is the charity's hospice in Maudsley Street, Bradford.
Cakes, buns, biscuits and other sweet treats will be on offer between noon and 3.30pm, and there will also be a raffle and a 'bottle tombola' with anything from shampoo to whisky to be won.
The hospice is hoping people will donate raffle and tombola prizes - anyone with anything to donate is asked to drop it off at the hospice.
Choices Hairdressers on Stone Hall Road, Bradford, will also be asking clients to give donations to the Bradford Hospice in return for the complementary drinks they receive.
Community fundraiser Leah Mitchell said: "We would like to encourage other hairdressers and beauty salons to follow suit and help raise money for the Bradford Hospice by taking part in the Blooming Great Tea Party."
Last year across the UK the charity's Blooming Great Tea Party raised £667,000.
