A DANGEROUS driver, who drove at twice the speed limit and jumped red lights and give way junctions, has been jailed for ten months.
Nasser Malik, 31, was seen by police in Barkerend Road, Bradford, driving a Renault Megane at high speed towards Shipley-Airedale Road at about 4am on January 20 this year.
The officer followed and saw Malik driving at 70mph in 30mph zones, driving on the wrong side of the road round blind bends, driving through a red light and failing to give way.
Malik finally mounted a grassy area, damaging his front offside wheel and coming to stop. The officer found an 18-year-old man in the passenger seat. Malik had his upper body in the back seat and his legs between the front seats having jumped into the back.
He was intoxicated and a roadside test found him three times over the drink drive limit but he failed to give a sample at the police station.
Recorder Richard Wright QC told Malik, of Manor House Gardens, Leeds Road, Bradford, who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, his driving had been appalling.
