AN RSPCA inspector is fundraising for the charity this summer by completing a sponsored "ultra triathlon".
Sarah Bagley, 27, of Oxenhope, will carry out a two-mile swim, a 140-mile coast-to-coast cycle and an 18-mile run.
She intends to complete all three demanding legs in three days between June 12 and June 14.
Meanwhile, another fundraiser is planning a second arduous feat after an injury forced her to curtail an attempt to finish a 66-mile run around the Isle of Wight.
Nicola Anderson, of Stone Street, Haworth, took part in the Ultra Run on May 2, but had to quit after twisting her knee. She now intends to walk from London to Brighton to help Nepal earthquake survivors.
Miss Bagley will undertake the swim in Windermere, in the Lake District, on June 12 as part of the Great North Swim event.
"I'm raising money for the local Keighley RSPCA branch which is Craven and District, as well as the national RSPCA," she said.
"I've done triathlons before but never anything on this scale.
"The run may be the toughest part, because that comes last. But at least with the run it's possible to stop for a rest, whereas you can't do that with the swim."
Miss Bagley, who has worked for the RSPCA for two and a half years, says she wants to raise as much money as possible, though has set herself a rough target of £2,000.
"I'm appealing to members of the public and local businesses to support me," she added.

Miss Anderson took part in the Isle of Wight Ultra Run earlier this month in memory of a friend she lost to breast cancer.
She ran in honour of her friend Anna, who lost her battle with cancer in December and to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.
Miss Anderson reached and exceeded her £500 sponsorship target, but was unable to complete the circular course, which started and ended in West Cowes.
"I got 77km in and had to pull out after twisting my knee, so when the opportunity came up to try a similar distance and complete it, I jumped at the chance," she said.
"I left the Isle of Wight feeling that I hadn't completed what I had set out to do, so here is my chance to do that."
She has set herself the challenge of walking 100km from London to Brighton for the Disasters Emergency Committee to raise money for people caught up in the Nepal Earthquake.
