AN ALSATIAN dog was rescued by firefighters from a basement flat after a blaze broke out last night.
Fire crews from Bradford and Fairweather Green were called to Dirkhill Road, Great Horton, at 9.40pm to a severe fire in a kitchen in premises above the flat.
The property was unoccupied at the time and the dog was rescued unharmed.
A fire service spokesman said an investigation into the cause of the fire was under way but it was not considered to be suspicious.
