TEENAGERS took to the waves to race Dragon Boats at Bradford Council's Doe Park water park activities centre at Denholme.
The inter-school competition saw year seven and eight pupils at Appleton Academy, Ilkley Grammar School, One In A Million Free School and Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College battle it out over a 200m course
Ten keen paddlers, aged between 11 and 13-years-old, were in the ornate boats, each with a drummer to keep time and spur them on.
The competition has been organised to encourage schools in the district to try this fast growing sport.
Earlier this month Appleton Academy won Bradford first Dragon Boat race which was contested by 22 teams on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at Roberts Park, Saltaire, to raise more than £20,000 for the Lord Mayor's Appeal.
