A MAN has appeared in court to deny threatening and obstructing a police officer on Boxing Day last year.
Jac Powell pleaded not guilty at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court to obstructing PC Peter Sutcliffe and using threatening words or behaviour that would cause the officer harassment or distress.
Powell, dressed in a smart grey suit, was told he would stand trial at the same court on July 14 and 15. The court was told that nine witnesses would be called to give evidence at the trial - five police officers, three civilians, and Powell.
The 20-year-old, of Western Place, Queensbury, was released on conditional bail, which prohibits him from contacting two of the witnesses.
