TRAVELLERS have moved on to the grounds of a private boarding school.
Woodhouse Grove School has started legal proceedings to move the travellers on from the car park it leases from Bradford Council, next to Harrogate Road, in Apperley Bridge.
Vans, caravans and a horse arrived eight days a go and more have joined since, said Peter Thompson, the operational director of the school, which charges almost £25,000 a year for pupils to board.
He added: "We had no other option open to us than to inform the police and start legal proceedings. I've been to talk them on numerous occasions and have always been met cordially and nicely but with no commitment to when they will go.
"Hopefully this means they will have gone next week or even sooner which would be better. My groundsmen tidy the grounds every day but the camp is putting a drain on our time."
The school will now be looking at what it can do to prevent travellers moving on the the site in future.
