BRADFORD'S new Lord Mayor has unveiled the charities she will be supporting during her year in office.
Councillor Joanne Dodds was installed as Lord Mayor of Bradford in a ceremony at City Hall today.
There, she revealed that this year's Lord Mayor's appeal will raise money for two good causes - the Bradford Hospitals Children’s Charity and a new appeal being set up called Spread a Smile.
Spread a Smile will offer small grants for organisations and smaller groups across the district to enhance their projects without having to spend extra time raising money.

The Bradford Hospitals Children’s Charity is raising money for a range of equipment for a new children’s ward which is being built at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
The new ward will have state of the art facilities for acutely poorly babies, children and young people from right across the district.
Cllr Dodds said: "I have visited the hospital and I have seen for myself what it is like for the children and their families and what the new build will mean to them.
"I realise it can also be difficult for groups and organisations to find funding for their projects, events and activities.
"This is why I have launched the Spread a Smile appeal to offer smaller pots of money to lots of different organisation to enable them to fulfil their dreams."
