VISITORS were treated to a celebration of Asian music and dance as Bradford's Cartwright Hall Art Gallery stayed open late as part of a national campaign.
The gallery, in Lister Park, remained open until 9pm as part of the Museums at Night programme, when hundreds of cultural venues across the UK opened their doors after-hours.
Friday's event was supported by Arts Council England and guests enjoyed specially commissioned performances by Bradford's Kala Sangam and classical Indian instrumentalists Sehaj Singh and Santokh Singh.
The evening also featured demonstrations of calligraphy with Razwan Ul-Haq and mendhi hand art with Nazia Majid.
Performances were centred on the Eye of the Beholder: Taking Inspiration exhibition at the gallery, which includes new artworks by local and nationally based artists.
Guests also had the chance to view other exhibitions including From Bradford to Benares: The Art of Sir William Rothenstein, and Knit, from the Crafts Council Collection and Hothouse Makers.
Bradford Council officer Janet Simmonds said: "This was a fabulous evening of Asian dance and music, and gave people the chance to explore the temporary exhibitions in the gallery in a new light."
