FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a former pub in Allerton.
Crews were called to the Old King's Head, on Hill Top Lane, at about 10pm yesterday. It is believed the fire was started deliberately.
A spokesman for Fairweather Green fire station said: "I cannot see that it was accidental."
He added that the building was in the process of being demolished before the fire.

"There was mainly damage to the wood of the structure. The more valuable parts had been taken down already," he said.
The former pub, which dates back to 1820, has been hit by fire before.
In September 2009, two years after the Grade II listed pub closed, the building was targeted by arsonists.
