FOLLOW the yellow brick road this summer and you could end up in Bradford.
A ruby slipper slide and plenty of Oz magic will take over City Park in time for next month's Bradford Festival.
And the wonderful world of Oz will be back again in October as part of the Bradford Shine music and lights celebrations brought by creative performance organisation Irregular Arts.
The group is now looking for nominations of some of Bradford's unsung heroes who have a heart, brains and or courage - just like Dorothy's friends the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Lion.
People are being to nominate the special people in their lives to show just how much they care and appreciate them and who deserve some recognition.
Those who are selected will receive a limited edition certificate and the chance for their story to be shared with the rest of Bradford on the big screen during Bradford Shine in October.
In The Wizard Of Oz Dorothy's friends Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion discover that despite thinking they had nothing, they had all the heart, brains and courage that they need to defeat the Wicked Witch.
Heart awards will be for people who have shown that they care about other people, issues, or are concerned enough to do that little bit extra to make a difference.
Brains awards are not just about doing really well in school or getting qualifications, they will also be for people with great ideas, big thoughts, wisdom or vision, perhaps ideas they have worked at and seen through.
And courage awards will recognise the bravery of people who have faced up to a challenge, perhaps personal or professional, physical or emotional, and kept on going even when things were tough.
Jenny Wilson, who takes on the role of the good witch Glinda, said: "I think Bradford is a great place and it's a great place because of the people in it.
"I work as an artist in the community and meet lots of people doing amazing things for their community and each other. They are the unsung heroes and I just thought the awards would be a lovely way to say thank you."
To nominate, film a short clip on webcam or smart phone explaining who you have nominated and why and then send it to the project via irregulararts.com. Nominations close on Wednesday, June 17.
Those shortlisted for an award will be notified soon after and invited to come to the city centre on June 29 or June 30 to be filmed receiving the award from the person who nominated them.
All those whose awards are filmed will be shown on the big screen in Bradford City Park at the Echoes of Oz finale at Bradford Shine from October 9 to October 11.
