A CHARITABLE foundation has smashed through a milestone.
Donations from the Bradford-based Yorkshire Building Society scheme since its launch in 1999 now exceed £6 million.
Charitable Foundation cash is raised mainly through customers donating pennies from the annual interest on their accounts
Jonathan Thewlis, manager of the Yorkshire Building Society's Keighley branch, said: "It's an absolute pleasure to be able to support the Charitable Foundation's fantastic announcement that it has broken the £6 million barrier.
"I'm especially pleased to see that many of these donations have been made in support of charities and good causes in Keighley and our surrounding communities."
