A 22-YEAR-OLD woman has been jailed for five months for stabbing a man in the back in a drunken row at a party.
Jade Proctor became very upset when Ian Butterfield made a remark about a friend of hers who had died, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
Proctor was part of a gathering of "known alcoholics" at an address in Upper George Street, Wibsey, on April 9.
She immediately admitted to the police that she had stabbed Mr Butterfield, 53, in the back.
Proctor, of Flockton Road, Allerton, Bradford, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and was remanded in custody.
The court heard that Mr Butterfield was treated in hospital. One wound was superficial but the other was deeper and needed suturing.
He declined to have his injuries photographed or to give a statement to the police.
Proctor's barrister, Howard Shaw, said there had been a drunken argument.
Mr Butterfield had said something about one of Miss Proctor's friends who had passed away.
Miss Proctor was very vulnerable but was now free from alcohol and resolved to turn her life around.
She would welcome a short custodial sentence to continue the detoxification process.
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC said she would automatically be supervised by the probation service when she was released from prison.
