A 22-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for nine years for smashing a woman's face after she fled in terror from him into a Bradford shop.
Jacob Gallagher was locked up after he was convicted by a jury at Bradford Crown Court of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Kiyah Norde with intent to do her grievous bodily harm.
Gallagher, of Qureshi View, Manningham, Bradford, was jailed for an extra two months for attacking shopkeeper Mohammed Awan who rang the police after witnessing the assault.
Gallagher pursued Miss Norde from a house in Walker Avenue, Bradford, to the shop in Scholemoor Lane, on the morning of December 6 last year.
He was said to have been drinking all night before the attack.
The jury heard Gallagher was "foaming at the mouth" with rage.
The argument spilled on to the street and Miss Norde, described as his on-off girlfriend, ran into the shop.
Gallagher chased her inside, pulled her hair, pinned her against a wall and punched her several times,
The court heard that he also spilled rubbish on her and poured a bottle of liquid over her.
Miss Norde was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary where a scan showed she had suffered a fractured right eye socket and other injuries.
