A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a man accused of strangling a pet cat to death.
Michael Holt, 47, failed to attend a scheduled hearing at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He faces a charge of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, after allegations he "strangled and threw the cat about" until it was dead, in Bradford on May 8.
Holt, of Bracken Bank Grove, Keighley, denies the charge.
Prosecutor Linda Fowler applied for the warrant on behalf of West Yorkshire Police, which was granted by chairman of the bench, Diane Craven.
