A PRIMARY school in a Bradford village have organised what they hope becomes an annual tradition.
Clayton Village Primary School revived the great British tradition of the May Day complete with Maypole dancing, May king and queen and even morris dancers.
There had not been any May Day celebration in the village for many years, but the children were fully on board with the idea to bring it back.
Pupils voted for ten-year-old Milly Read to be their queen and 11-year-old Liam Holland their king, as well as voting for attendants from all year groups at the school.

The day involved pupils parading to Victoria Park in brightly coloured clothing, and with musical instruments they had made themselves.
Leeds-based Briggate Morris Dancers had come to the school to teach children about the quirky British dance, and even had teachers performing some moves for parents.
Vicky Drake, marketing manager at the school, said: "The tradition seems to have fizzled out but we're quite keen to make it an annual tradition. We have plans for next year already.
"It was fantastic, parents and the community turned out to watch.
"The idea that they could be named king or queen gives the kids something to look forward to."
