WORKMEN have been surveying the condition of City Hall's clock tower - and found a tree growing out of the top of it.
The contractors used a crane today to get close enough to look at the state of the stonework around the tower.
The results of the survey will be fed back to Bradford Council, which is carrying out a major repairs programme on the Grade I listed landmark.

Local authority building surveyor Richard Young said the survey was being carried out "just to have a look at what's what".
And he said while they were still waiting on the results, one finding which had been immediately apparent was a tree growing out of the parapet.
He said: "It has grown back - it has been snapped off before."
Mr Young said if any work was needed to the clock tower, it could pose some challenges, not least the question of how workers would put up scaffolding around the tower itself.
Last month, Labour-led Bradford Council approved a plan to spend £900,000 on the fourth phase of repairs to City Hall.
