Stanningley bypass shut after reports of man in distress on bridge
STANNINGLEY Bypass has now reopened, after being closed by police this afternoon both ways following reports of a man in distress on a bridge.
Officers were on scene on a bridge near the Owlcotes Lane turn off where they were speaking with the man, a West Yorkshire Police spokesman said.
The bypass was closed at the junction while the situation was resolved.
Officers were called at around 1.10pm today.

Police had advised drivers to avoid the area, while traffic was queued between the A6110 Ring Road in Bramley and Town End Close.
The incident affected traffic heading between Leeds, Owlcotes and Dawsons Corner.
The X6 bus was also being diverted via Stanningley Road.
