TWO men have been spared immediate jail sentences for an armed affray at a house in Bradford.
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC said the "not inconsiderable background to the case" meant that Paul Collins and Scott Deighton did not have to go to prison.
Collins, 40, of Lidget Place, Bradford, and Deighton, 37, of Allerton Grange Drive, Allerton, Bradford, pleaded guilty to affray at Bradford Crown Court at an earlier hearing.
Collins admitted having a hammer as an offensive weapon, and Deighton a machete, when they entered a property in Canford Road, Allerton, on September 21 last year.
Each was yesterday sentenced to 15 months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with activity requirements with the probation service.
