DETECTIVES investigating the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl in a Bradford park have concluded that no offences were committed.

The incident was reported to have happened in Bowling Park last Thursday lunchtime.

But today, Detective Chief Inspector Mark McManus, of the Homicide and Major Enquiries Team, said: "Further enquiries have been carried out into this matter to establish the facts, and police are now satisfied that no offences have been committed.

"The complainant has been referred to our partner agencies for further support."

Police (pictured at the scene) sealed off the park for investigations after the teenage girl said she was attacked by a man who followed her through the park and dragged her into woodland.

Yesterday, police arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of serious sexual assault and questioned him over the alleged incident.

He was later released on bail while police continued their inquiries.

Det Chf Insp McManus said: "A 23-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the incident remains on bail at this time in relation to a separate matter."
