BRADFORD City fan Mark Neale has paid a solemn visit to the fire disaster memorial in Centenary Square where a poignant service takes place today to mark the 30th anniversary of one of football's worst disasters in which 56 lives were lost and a further 258 people injured, some terribly.
Mr Neale, of Queensbury, was in the crowd on May 11, 1985, to witness the terrible scenes as fire engulfed a wooden stand as Bradford City played Lincoln City.
The district will fall silent at 11am and the bells of City Hall will toll once for each of the victims, 54 from Bradford and two from Lincoln, as their names are read out.
