A POIGNANT two-minute silence was held in Bradford at 3pm today to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day.
War veterans, members of the armed forces, the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons, and Canon Sam Chorley, the Chaplain to the Royal British Legion’s Bradford branch were among those who paid their respects in Centenary Square to mark the end of the Second World War in Europe.
The service coincided with the remembrance service at The Cenotaph in London.
