A SUCCESSFUL 14th Baildon Beer Festival held at the town’s Moravian Church last weekend made more than £3,000 towards the church’s running costs, it has been revealed.

“This year we made two big changes,” said beer festival organiser Bill Arnold.

“We increased the real ales from 18 to 20, and we decided to open two hours earlier on the Friday at 4pm instead of 6pm, these extra two hours brought us an additional 53 punters, so it was well worth it.”

A total of 15 of the 20 barrels had sold out by the end of Saturday evening, with little remaining in the others.

“Once again, it looks as if we have made a £3,000-plus profit towards the upkeep of the church and premises.

“I would sincerely like to thank all the helpers for their hard work, and especially the very important sponsors, for which we are eternally grateful,” said Mr Arnold.
