BLOOD banks are urging people to make a date to donate as another Bank Holiday approaches.
Hospitals across England and North Wales need more than 6,000 blood donations every day to treat patients and save lives.
Senior Marketing Coordinator at NHS Blood and Transplant Amanda Eccles said: “As the weather gets better we understand that people would like to spend time enjoying it with their loved ones but please don’t forget about those patients who rely on blood donors to save their lives or keep them well, so they can enjoy the good weather too.
“It is always an important time to give blood, but stocks can be more vulnerable around public holidays.
“We would like to encourage new and existing donors in Bradford to take the time to donate blood this May. We can promise them a warm welcome and the satisfaction of knowing that their life-saving donation will be used to help people.”
To donate, visit blood.co.uk or call 0300 123 23 23 to find your nearest session.
