THE FRIENDS of Cross Roads Park (FCRP) have taken over the running of the park toilets from Bradford Council.
Friends Volunteers including Trevor Hargreaves, Pam Peel, Kim Krysko and Clare Arana, began cleaning the toilets inside and out.
Friends Chairman Tito Arana, chairman of FCRP, praised the “great effort” by everyone involved.
He particularly wanted to thank Lee Dewhirst for organising paint for the toilets at cost price, and Trevor Hargreaves who spent the whole day cleaning the flags outside the toilets.
Mr Arana added: “Things are really starting to come together – there was fantastic community spirit.”
The previous week a team of volunteers had prepared a boundary around the play area so that new bark could be put down to replace the old layer, which was dirty and one.
Funding has come from Keighley Area Committee through the Ward Improvement Fund.
Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council recently registered the toilet blocks as a community asset to protect it in the future.
