PEOPLE are already being encouraged to get their trainers on and sign up for this year’s Bradford City Runs.
The event, organised by Bradford Council and Bradford Athletics Network, follows a 5kfive-kilometre, 10k or a half-marathon course, and will be held on Sunday, October 25.
The route, on closed roads, follows the now familiar 5k circuit around Bradford University and Bradford College, finishing in City Park.
A one-mile children’s run, which also finishes in City Park, will kick off the event.
This year’s event will feature a new spectator hub with family entertainment, little runners races and games, and an under-fives play zone in Centenary Square.
There will be prizes for all categories and proceeds from the event will be given to charity.
Last year’s City Runs event saw a field of 1,000 runners take totook the streets of Bradford, raising overmore than £10,000.
This cash was then given to the £1 million Telegraph & Argus Bradford Crocus Cancer Appeal.
The Bradford City Runs are part of a series of Active Autumn events, which include the Bradford Sky Ride, held onSunday, September 20, and Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k, on September 27.
