DOZENS of fans have accepted an invitation to visit the Keighley Cougars ground to pay their respects to Danny Jones.
The popular 29-year-old died yesterday from a suspected heart attack after becoming unwell at the team's game against London Skolars at the New River Stadium.
The club has today opened up Cougar Park, on Royd Ings Avenue, and placed a photograph of the Welsh International in front of the Terry Hollindrake Stand. Fans can also leave tributes at the gates.
The mood at the ground is a sombre one with fans gathered by the Terry Hollindrake stand, where a photo of Jones has been surrounded by rugby shirts, many with tributes to the player on them, and flowers.
One Welsh flag pinned to the memorial reads "RIP Danny, from the North Wales Crusaders."
The goalkicking half-back, who enjoyed a 12-year career, was taken off just four minutes into his club's League 1 game yesterday.
The player leaves behind a wife and five-month-old twins.
A JustGiving fundraising page has been set up this morning in Jones' name raising money for the RFL Benevolent Fund.
Already it has raised more than £9,500 so far with more than 700 donations.
