A JUNIOR football team in the Spen Valley has raised £750 by holding a sponsored penalty shootout at Liversedge FC.
Members of Gomersal & Cleckheaton Under 8s took turns to try and score as many goals as possible against their four coaches during the half-time interval of the game, in which Liversedge beat Pickering 3-1.
The money will be put towards new kit for the club’s 27 players, plus training balls and other equipment.
Coach Shaun Hamill said: “The day went spectacularly well, with the boys clapping both teams on to the pitch before a great 15 minute penalty shoot-out in front of the crowd.”
