POLICE are investigating after yobs hurled stones at a passenger carriage window of a Keighley & Worth Valley Railway train.

The train was passing through Ingrow towards Haworth when it was struck by stones on Sunday afternoon.

K&WVR spokesman Jim Shipley, (pictured), said the damage would have cost about £200 to repair.

“This was safety glass, so no one was hurt,” he said. “But there’s always the possibility that chucking stones at our trains could cause an injury. It’s something we could do without.”

He said the stones which hit the carriage were thrown by youths in Ingrow at about 2.45pm.
