AN ORGANISATION in Bradford which supports the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community is to host an event in Centenary Square to celebrate and beat oppression.
Equity Partnership and Incommunities, International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia, will be on Thursday, May 12 at Forster’s Bistro at 6.30pm.
The event is in aid to make a stand for LGB&T rights and freedom from oppression and violence.
Equity Partnership has played an active role in developing the LGB&T community in Bradford by supporting existing groups and helped new ones start in the city.
A spokesman for the group said, we support all LGB&T groups and individuals to have a say in the decisions taken by agencies to ensure that local services are appropriate to the needs of his community.
Equity Partnership runs Bradford LGB&T Group Network, where groups and individuals can come together to network and discus any issues they also offer training programmes to help combat homophobia.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event but places must be booked by emailing Rachel Nauwelarets via rachel@equitypartnership.org.uk or call 01274 727779 for more details.
