POLICE want to trace the owner of a dog that attacked a sheep in a field in Micklethwaite.
The sheep required veterinary attention after the attack by the dog, which was off its lead, at Beck Road.
The dog was described as a black and white Staffordshire bull terrier. It was with a white man with short grey hair, of medium build in his late 50s. It is believed the owner may live in the Crossflatts or East Morton area.
Anyone with any information which will lead to tracing the dog owner, is urged to call 101 and quote reference 13150165646.
Following this incident, which took place on Thursday, April 23, police have reminded all dog owners that it is vital to keep their dogs on a lead when around livestock.
