AN ANNUAL tag rugby tournament to help a severely injured teenager from Silsden is seeking “urgent” support to ensure this year’s event is a success.
Tag Rugby 2015 will raise money for the care costs of Nathan Cubitt. Nathan broke his neck while playing for his under 17s team in 2011, when he was 16-years-old. The accident left him paralysed from the armpits down.
A spokesman for the organisers of the tournament said: “We urgently require referees for the day.
“Free kit and food on the day will be provided for anyone that can help us out. Anyone interested should please e-mail nathantagrugby@gmail.com or phone Mark Dunstan on 075953 37159.”
The organisers are also hunting for tombola prizes, a children’s face painter and barriers to ensure people’s safety during the hog roast.
The spokesman added: “Richards Residential Supplies have agreed to be a part event sponsor along with Try Tag Rugby. However we’re still looking for other sponsors.”
This year’s event takes place on Sunday, May 24 at Keighley Rugby Union Football Club. Visit nathancubittrugby.blogspot.co.uk for more details.
