POLICE are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a car struck a tree seriously injuring the driver.

The crash happened at about 7pm on Friday, April 10, when the red Alfa Romeo Mito, travelling along the A647 Stanningley bypass towards Bradford, left the road and struck a tree close to Dawsons Corner roundabout in Pudsey.

The 41-year-old male driver was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious head and back injuries which were not believed to be life threatening.
