KEIGHLEY Library will hold its first-ever poetry evening tomorrow.on Thursday.

The 7pm event will feature poets Jane Routh (pictured), Helen Burke and Mike Barlow, and the evening will be hosted by Sarah Corbett and Carola Luther.

Jane Routh has published three full collections of poetry, with The Gift of Boats winning the Academi Cardiff International Poetry Competition in 2009.

She has been praised for her impressive range, writing vivid language that ranges from gritty and muscular to tender and deeply thoughtful.

Mike Barlow’s first collection, Living On The Difference, won the Poetry Business Book and Pamphlet Competition.

He is said to write with compassion, brilliant deftness and unusual warmth, along with a desire to look out into the world and confront real issues.

Helen Burke has been writing and performing poetry for 40 years and also regular radio poetry show.

She believes poetry should be thought-provoking , fun and entertaining.
