POLICE investigating a burglary in which items belonging to Bradford-trained Olympic and Commonwealth boxing champion Nicola Adams were stolen have recovered her car.
The grey Hyundai Veloster Turbo was found at about 8.20am yesterday parked in Sandringham Way, Alwoodley, after a member of the public called police to report it having been left there in the last few days.
Detective Constable Will Tsang, of Leeds District Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: "Unfortunately the boxing equipment and other items that were in the boot when it was stolen were no longer in the vehicle. The silver Ford Focus TDCi, registration YH09DLU, that was also stolen in the burglary remains outstanding at this time. We would still like to hear from anyone who has seen that vehicle or who knows its current whereabouts.
"Our investigation is ongoing and we would still like to hear from anyone who has been offered for sale any of the very distinctive items that were taken."
Former Bradford College student Miss Adams, 32, who honed her skills at Huggy's gym in the city, withdrew from this weekend's England Boxing Elite National Championships following the theft.
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Tsang at Elland Road via 101 or call the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
