AN EVENT to celebrate Bradford’s Latvian community will be held in City Park during the May bank holiday weekend.
The Latvian Festival of Culture takes place on Sunday, May 3, and will involve a procession to City Hall, traditional dances, music and folk tunes, as well as stalls selling Latvian cuisine.
There will also be Latvian artefacts on show, stalls selling crafts and an exhibition of Latvia From Above. Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons (pictured) will open the event, and will be joined by Latvian ambassador to the UK Andris Teikmanis.11.45am start. to 5.50pm.
