A MAN who had his car stolen from outside his house was due to move home just two days later.
Vincent Celino’s Jaguar XJ was taken from Wrose Grove, Wrose, early on Tuesday.
Mr Celino picked up the keys to a new property on Wednesday, and said of Tuesday’s car theft: “Two days after and it wouldn’t have been in Wrose.”
The Jaguar had the distinctive registration number-plate P1 JXJ.
Mr Celino said the car was spotted by a camera on Tong Street at about 4.35am on Tuesday.
He added: “It had my two-year-old’s car seat and my eight-year-old’s booster seat in the back.
“I do weddings now and again with it – I’m gutted because I have a wedding to do on May 2. I rang the chap up that morning and gave him the bad news but offered him an immediate refund and said if the new hire car cost more I’d make up the difference as I didn’t want to spoil their big day and put them out of pocket. They did find a plan B and I refunded them immediately.”
Police said the car was reported stolen at about 5.35am on Tuesday.
If anyone has seen the car, or knows where it is, ring 101.
