BRITISH Transport Police are trying to identify an assault victim who was seriously injured in an attack near to a busy West Yorkshire railway station.
Police have no idea who the man is and are appealing for information.
He could be from anywhere in West Yorkshire.
The man was founddiscovered with serious injuries, under a railway arch near Leeds station in the early hours of Saturday, by two men walking nearby.
Detective Inspector Mick Jackson, of BTP, said: “He has been physically assaulted and sustained serious injuries as a result.
"He is undergoing surgery at Leeds General Infirmary.
"We are pursuing several lines of inquiry, including reviewing CCTV footage and taking statements from the men who found him.”
