HUNDREDS of youngsters put their best feet forward today to mark St George's Day by parading from City Park to Bradford Cathedral.
Up to 400 Scouts, Beavers, Cubs and Explorers, in full colourful uniforms, were bathed in warm sunshine. After a grand unfurling of the Flag of St George from the top of the cathedral, they marched back to the Park, where they formed a huge circle around the Mirror Pool to take the salute, as the water jets sprayed purple, the Scouting colour.
The parade was made up of groups from Bradford South and Bradford North.
Bradford South Explorer leader Richard Binns said: "It's good to see everybody out. We only parade twice a year, today and Remembrance Day. It's a chance for people to see what we do."
Two brass bands, including Queensbury Scout Band - the second highest rated in the country - blazed a trail.
Band director Oliver Richardson said: "It's the 35th year the band has taken part in the parade. It's a patriotic occasion and it's good to be out here, showing what scouting is about."
